Adoption Guide

Bring Home Your Forever Friend

Adopting a dog is the best gift you can give yourself. Not only are you helping an animal in need, but you're creating a bond that fills your life with joy, fun, adventures and unconditional love. Don't hesitate another day, bring home your best friend, forever.

Adoption Requirements

Adopting a dog may be the only opportunity a human has to choose a relative.

It is our responsibility to find the best possible homes for the dogs in our care. We consider important details in finding the right fit, such as a person's home, interests and lifestyle. We then match those with the dogs social, exercise and training needs. Some Thrive dogs have special needs or requirements; for instance needing to be an only pet, medical issues or perhaps they are not good with kids. For this reason we reserve the right to deny an adoption if we feel it is not a good fit or in the dogs' best interest.

Thrive Animal Rescue has a $200 adoption fee for all adult dogs and $300 for puppies under 6 months old. Fees may vary based on the age of the adopted dog. There are costs incurred in pulling a dog from a shelter and getting it ready for its forever home, and this fee helps to cover some of those costs. Thrive is a 501(c)3 donation based non-profit. Because of generous donations from dog lovers all over the country, we are able to continue our quest to save one sweet soul at a time.

All of our dogs are evaluated for health and behavior and receive the following before going into a new home:

  1. DHPP-Parvo/Bordatella for dogs and puppies

  2. Rabies vaccinations

  3. Worming

  4. Spay or Neuter

  5. Treatment of any known illness

  6. Microchip
