Bring Home Your Forever Friend
Adopting a dog is the best gift you can give yourself. Not only are you helping an animal in need, but you're creating a bond that fills your life with joy, fun, adventures and unconditional love. Don't hesitate another day, bring home your best friend, forever.
Adopting a dog may be the only opportunity a human has to choose a relative.
It is our responsibility to find the best possible homes for the dogs in our care. We consider important details in finding the right fit, such as a person's home, interests and lifestyle. We then match those with the dogs social, exercise and training needs. Some Thrive dogs have special needs or requirements; for instance needing to be an only pet, medical issues or perhaps they are not good with kids. For this reason we reserve the right to deny an adoption if we feel it is not a good fit or in the dogs' best interest.
Thrive Animal Rescue has a $200 adoption fee for all adult dogs and $300 for puppies under 6 months old. Fees may vary based on the age of the adopted dog. There are costs incurred in pulling a dog from a shelter and getting it ready for its forever home, and this fee helps to cover some of those costs. Thrive is a 501(c)3 donation based non-profit. Because of generous donations from dog lovers all over the country, we are able to continue our quest to save one sweet soul at a time.
All of our dogs are evaluated for health and behavior and receive the following before going into a new home:
- DHPP-Parvo/Bordatella for dogs and puppies
- Rabies vaccinations
- Spay or Neuter
- Treatment of any known illness

This beauty is 15 years old, healthy and offered for adoption as part of our Forever Foster program.
We met and rescued this handsome 18 month-old Shepherd mix the day after his right hind leg was amputated, and the Bonita shelter wanted him to recover in someone's quiet home. We're in love with him and he's getting along just great. Loves dogs and people.
Zoey is 10 yr old Min Pin, spayed female up to date on all vaccines. Very sweet with adults, good with other dogs and cats. Not good with children, and needs some training to better leash walk.
This adorable mixed breed is 95 lbs of love. He's currently in training to learn basic obedience, and should be ready to adopt by January 27th.
Three year old ADORABLE male Terrier mix. He's 8 lbs of wonderful.
Casey is a 1 year-old, female, 11 lb. Rat Terrier mix. She was rescued in November just minutes before being euthanized for a broken leg. Her rescuer/nurse/advocate is having to re-home her because her senior Chihuahua is having surgery and she cannot risk having her re-injured during her recuperation. A difficult decision, but let’s please support our fellow Good Samaritan by assisting her in finding a forever home for this sweet and darling girl. Inquiries are directed to: Patti 323.828.1886
She's a big boned girl, two years old and she loves everyone she meets. Dog friendly, housetrained and ready to be someone's family pet.
Hi! This is Taco, aka “Taquito!" He’s easily one of the nicest Chihuahuas we've ever met! He would love a quiet home where he can hang inside and lay in your lap whenever possible. He’s ok in a crate but great when left out as well. He tolerates children but he does get a little nervous around them so older children would be a better fit. He tolerates other dogs but he doesn’t want them to both him... he’d love a lounging buddy to keep him company. He walks well on a leash and loves to go on little explorations of the world! He’s just JUST HAD A DENTAL with many many extractions and is feeling 100x better. He’s ready for his new living home and would love to meet you!
