Bring Home Your Forever Friend
Adopting a dog is the best gift you can give yourself. Not only are you helping an animal in need, but you're creating a bond that fills your life with joy, fun, adventures and unconditional love. Don't hesitate another day, bring home your best friend, forever.
Adopting a dog may be the only opportunity a human has to choose a relative.
It is our responsibility to find the best possible homes for the dogs in our care. We consider important details in finding the right fit, such as a person's home, interests and lifestyle. We then match those with the dogs social, exercise and training needs. Some Thrive dogs have special needs or requirements; for instance needing to be an only pet, medical issues or perhaps they are not good with kids. For this reason we reserve the right to deny an adoption if we feel it is not a good fit or in the dogs' best interest.
Thrive Animal Rescue has a $200 adoption fee for all adult dogs and $300 for puppies under 6 months old. Fees may vary based on the age of the adopted dog. There are costs incurred in pulling a dog from a shelter and getting it ready for its forever home, and this fee helps to cover some of those costs. Thrive is a 501(c)3 donation based non-profit. Because of generous donations from dog lovers all over the country, we are able to continue our quest to save one sweet soul at a time.
All of our dogs are evaluated for health and behavior and receive the following before going into a new home:
- DHPP-Parvo/Bordatella for dogs and puppies
- Rabies vaccinations
- Spay or Neuter
- Treatment of any known illness

Available Friends: Dogs Ready for Adoption!
Lucy is a 1 1/2 year old girl looking for a home. She loves kids, and her people. She was under socialized as a pup so still learning how to communicate with other dogs and can be shy with new people at first. She needs a family with dog experience, she would not make a good first dog. She would do fine with other dogs in the family. She likes to follow the cat around but doesn’t bother him too much. She loves toys and playing with her kids. She’s an awesome girl and just needs a little more time with confidence building to become the perfect dog.
What we love about these two shy beauties, is how much they love other dogs. That is definitely a theme for us at Thrive- we try our best to find dogs who like dogs as much as we do. We knew it would be some time before they were ready for adoption, so we sent them to Dusty Tails Lodge to get them acclimated to life among human kindness, and now, several months later, they are coming around. Here is Marlie’s report on the girls.
“These girls came to us when they were around 12-14 weeks old. They were beyond terrified and wanted nothing to do with people. They were perfectly happy being in their crates and being left alone. We gave them some time to acclimate to their new environment and then had them take turns each day being in a crate in the middle of the house, so they could get used to all the sounds, and sights that go along with being in a household with people and other dogs. We started to notice they loved to be around the other dogs, it was the humans they were very afraid of. If out in the yard with the other dogs they would run and play but as soon as they realized we were around they would scatter and run for their crates. I took turns attaching them to my waist and having them follow me all over the house and I would give them treats all day long. This really helped form a closer and more trusting bond with the girls.”

He loves to play with little dogs, and toys.
He seems to be fine around horses.
He has great recall.
He sleeps all night in a crate without a peep.
He is not a marker.
He is calm in the car.
He has a gentle mouth.
He is not aggressive.
He is not hyper.
He doesn’t seem to shed.
He LOVES his main person, and is a devoted companion.
He sometimes will bark at large dogs.
He takes correction well. Only a simple and kind “no” works fine with him.
Pixi would love a lap to snuggle on in a home with other dogs. She is 2 years old, 5 lbs and spayed.
Calling all Soccer players, this girl is looking for a training partner!
Rocka is approximately 3, when she first came to us she appeared to be a bit aggressive toward the other dogs. Did a lot of growling and barking through her kennel, so we were very slow at introducing her to other dogs. We suspect this girl spent most of her life in a back yard with an ability to bark and run at the fence when cars and people/dogs passed by. She’s amazing with big soccer ⚽️ balls or similar, she dribbles it all over the yard and can even pass to you! She didn’t seem to have much of any manners or formal training but she’s a quick learner and eager to please. We have done a lot of work with this girl and she’s a much more confident and secure dog than before.
She walks great on a leash, she is tolerating other dogs very well, she is a bit growly still upon introductions but that’s about as worked up as she gets. She’s crate trained and potty trained. She’s been evaluated by 3 different trainers and they all say, she has great potential. We can walk her off leash around our property and she stays near by, she loves to chase and dig after all the rabbits, squirrels and gophers. She also chases/follows the cat around so no cats for this girl.
With other dogs she is doing amazing, she is really learning how to tolerate being around other dogs and even will play a little with select few. She knows a lot of basic commands and is really a smart girl. She comes with a free training lesson from me to ensure the best success for all. She loves kids, she can be a little mouthy so maybe older kids would be best but she would love someone to play ball with
