Coco Worrell

Coco Worrell attended the Western University of Health Sciences, where she specialized in Applied Animal Behavior. Her expertise and knowledge are invaluable qualities when it comes to evaluating and placing dogs into the environment which best suits both their needs and those of the adoptive family.

In addition to being adept at animal behavior, Coco has proven to be our in-house birth doula when we rescue pregnant mama dogs in need.

Dr. Sophie Steele

Dr. Sophie Steele has been with Thrive Animal Rescue since 2021, as our on-site veterinarian. Dr. Steele evaluates our new dogs advising us as to what is required to get them healthy before going to their new home, and is an invaluable asset to our organization.

She received her veterinary degree from the University of California at Davis in 1999.

Candace Swearingen

Candace is a San Diego Native and has been working with dogs most of her life. From dog walking, dog sitting, working at boarding/training facilities and vet clinics and has also volunteered with rescue organizations such as Pug Nation of LA a. Her goal is to become a dog trainer and to help dogs and people at the same time. Candace also has a passion to help addicts and alcoholics feel like they have a reason to get clean and sober through the support and love of therapy dogs. She would love to help rehabilitate dogs with behavior issues at the same time. She loves dancing, Disneyland, camping, all things nature, and hanging out with her husband, Jerad and pit mix Yoshi.
